History
The past century has seen countless technological advances, and through it all, Suhm Spring Works has been there. From the first days of the industrial revolution, to the first automobiles, to the first airplanes, to the oil boom, to the man on the moon; Suhm has seen them all first hand, whether it be our decades-old relationships with the world's top industrial companies, or manufacturing the springs used to hold moon rocks in 1969.
When Carl J. Suhm, a young German immigrant, opened his small machine shop in 1885, he couldn't have imagined its evolution. For 120 years, Suhm Spring Works has provided a quality product for a dynamically shifting world, by developing strong business alliances with its customers. Suhm continues to research opportunities and trends that will optimize our capabilities in changing markets, and has prospered for well over a century with a backbone of an efficient and intelligent production scheme coupled with hard work and honest ethic; an ethic that gets the job done right.
As the company shifts its focus for the new millennium, technological progression and lean production have become critical to success. As customer demands grow more exacting, so do we. Here at Suhm, customer satisfaction is priority one, as it has been for the last 120 years, and will be for the next 120.
Today Suhm has its primary Manufacturing Facility in Houston, Texas, an Automatic Coiling Facility, also in Houston, Texas, a Stamping Facility in Dallas, Texas, another Manufacturing Facility in Matamoros, Mexico, and Sales and Marketing Offices in The Netherlands.
Suhm Spring Works is a family owned business, handed down through five generations. The Morgan Family, Carl J. Suhm's great-great-grandchildren, currently administers the business.
